Wake up

A Half-Awake Species

Symbolic language led to another significant step in human intelligence. We used language not only to communicate with each other, but also within our own minds, i.e. verbal thinking. With this power we could reflect upon our experiences and plan our future. In addition, we could reflect upon the fact that we were aware. We became conscious of consciousness itself. We began to wake up to our own inner worlds.

At present however, we are only half-awake to who and what we really are. Becoming aware of our own selves brought with it a sense of an individual "I" observing the world and initiating our actions. But just what is this self? It seems so obvious that it is there, but, as many have discovered, it is hard to define it or pin it down.

When asked “Who are you?” most of us will respond with the various things we identify with—our name, beliefs, occupation, education, roles, gender, social status, personality, interests. We derive a sense of identity from what we have or do in the world, with our history, and our circumstances. But any such derived identity is conditional, and thus forever vulnerable. It is continually at the mercy of circumstances, and before long we need to defend or reassert our fragile sense of self. Our basic survival programming, designed to ensure our physical survival, is usurped for our psychological survival, leading to many unnecessary and often dysfunctional behaviors.

In addition, we are only half-awake to our deeper needs and how to attain them. Most of us would like to avoid pain and suffering, and find greater peace and happiness, but we believe that how we feel inside depends on external circumstances. This is true in some cases, for example. if we are suffering because we are cold or hungry. In the modern world, most of us can fulfill these demands very easily. The flick of a switch or a trip to the store usually suffices. But we apply the same thinking to everything else in life. We believe that if we could just get enough of the right things or experiences we would finally be happy. This is the root of human greed, our love of money, our need to control events (and other people); it is the cause of much of our fear and anxiety, we worry whether events are going to be the way we think they should be if we are to be happy. This thinking is also at the heart of the many ways we mistreat, and often abuse, our planetary home.

The global crisis we are now facing is, at its root, a crisis of consciousness—a crisis born of the fact that we have prodigious technological powers, but still remain half-awake. We need to awaken to who we are and what we really want.

The global conciousness project and the power of the human mind

I recently came across an interesting article about a project who's subject matter had to do with the idea of global consciousness. What is this global consciousness we ask ourselves? the origins of the theory and idea of global consciousness, as I understand them, ring back to a man named Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a french paleontologist who developed the idea of omega point and more importantly the noosphere, there are several major contributors to the theory but Pierre was one of the most important, the actual nature of global consciousness and its roots go back to the times of socrates and plato though, largely having to do with concepts and idea's of posthumanitism, in reference to metaphysics, developed in their time, and other things to that effect, In any case. Global consciousness is the idea that we as human beings make up a huge network of consciousness that exists within all of us, and that we are all connected through our minds, someway on a conscious, rational level. Think of the human body, now think of every single cell in the human body as being a rational, individual human beings, we all make up this large body of consciousness, contrary to our normal anatomical structure where every single cell in our body is dominated and controlled by a singular consciousness we refer to as the mind, however it is unclear as to whether our mind is in fact, a singular consciousness, the subject of collective cellular consciousness and cellular memory will be examined later on in other entries. The global consciousness project aims to try and prove the relation of all human beings on a conscious level via the use of random number generators following a path of coherence and attempting to show the relation between human beings when the number generators wouldn't follow their path of coherence during an event such as the twin tower bombings or the massive sri lankan tsunami, of course there are also reasonable explanations of how the number generators did what they did, but isn't it a coincidence that the number generators did that at the times of major world events? how in theory and potential fact, that we as human beings have an effect, or rather, can cause manifestations in different forms such as wishes coming true, natural events, in reality and in the physical world in the form of natural events, in the form of wishes coming true, through our thinking, through our feelings, through our ups and downs and all arounds, that we as human beings are capable of much more together then we are apart. the project itself was only designed to provide potential evidence that humans were in fact connected either locally or non locally, it wasn't designed with the idea in mind that human beings have potential to physically manifest feelings and ideas, as fore stated. to measure the extent of the kind of changes we could manifest in the world, although there are theories, in relation to the fore stated idea that human beings can physically manifest ideas and feelings, that present the idea that things like global warming are a manifestation and product of something happening within global consciousness, of course there are perfectly logical explanations for global warming but as before, the coincidental value and chance this has is interesting. when were thinking of ancient cultures such as the maya, the various aboriginal tribes of north america and the various tribes of africa, we think primitive peoples, people stuck in the past, when really, they may have a greater knowledge of global consciousness then the rest of us. In the books 2012: the return of quetzalquoatl and breaking open the head, Daniel Pinchbeck objectively describes his accounts with all these various tribes, in particular, the ceremony of rain dance. He recalled a day when he was with the bwiti tribe of the congo, where they performed a rain dance in clear vibrant sunshine and daylight, and half an hour later clouds had rolled in and it began to rain. of course, logical explanation for this, but seeing as the bwiti don't have access to media internet or newspapers with weather forecasts and rain comes half an hour after they start a raindance, the nature of it all is very peculiar and very coincidental, but on the other hand could be an account and recording of how a collection of consciousness comes together with a common goal to physically manifest an idea or wish, quite literally manipulates nature to cause rainfall. My take on this, all of this, I'm by nature a skeptic, however I don't feel I possess the ultimate bias a full skeptic possesses, or rather, approaching an idea or theory with total bias, just out to sully and undermine for the sake of feeling superior, for feeling like a big shot, an intellectual bully. I like to think I approach a situation with optimism but not without a proper gauge of skepticism, I ask critical and bold questions that challenge the foundations and building blocks of an idea or theory, not in an attempt to decimate and take down an idea but to point out structural inefficiencies of it and to suggest where improvments and revisions should and must be made, in any case, my opinion on all of this. It strikes me as interesting that although there are logical explanations for the events in which the random number generators didn't follow their path of coherence due to anomalies and things to that effect, it is none the less vital that more research be done into applicable control methods to really determine if it truely was collective human consciousness that caused the number generators to have non coherence, or whether it was really all anomalies, more study and research should also be done into matter and energy manipulation through the mind of individuals and of collective individuals, if anyone has any book or website recommendations they would be very appreciated and my deepest gratitude would be expressed towards you. please reply back to me, to express your opinion, to please point out flaws and mistakes I have made (not grammatical I meant in the form of information, if I have my information wrong) always look for answers, always keep thinking.
